Hey there, fellow food lover! I’m Caroline Moore, the creator, cook, and storyteller behind Lady Baste. Here at Lady Baste, I believe that every meal is a chance to create memories, spark joy, and celebrate the art of sharing good food.
My core philosophy is simple: delicious recipes don’t need to be complicated or intimidating. Food is about connection—between flavors, cultures, and, most importantly, people. Over the years, my recipes and stories have been featured in Taste of Home, Food52, and Better Homes & Gardens, and I was honored to win the “Best Home Chef” award at the Midwest Culinary Showcase. Collaborating with family-run farms and local producers has taught me that the best meals come from honest ingredients and a generous sprinkle of love.
Through every recipe I create and every story I share, I’ve learned that food is more than just sustenance—it’s a way to express creativity, show care, and bring a little extra light to someone’s day. That’s the spirit of Lady Baste, and I’m so glad you’re here to join the journey!

How It All Started
My journey with recipes began long before Lady Baste ever existed. As a kid growing up in a bustling kitchen, I’d watch my grandmother knead dough for hours, turning simple ingredients into golden, crusty loaves. Those childhood afternoons—flour on my cheeks and laughter in the air—planted the seeds of a lifelong passion for cooking.
It was during a rainy summer in college, living in a cramped apartment with a finicky stove, that I really started experimenting with recipes. What began as trial and error (and a few kitchen disasters!) quickly became a creative outlet and a source of comfort. I found myself reaching for cookbooks, jotting down family favorites, and tweaking old classics until they felt just right.
Lady Baste was born from a desire to share that journey—to capture the stories, memories, and flavors that make each recipe special. Whether I’m recreating my grandmother’s cinnamon rolls or inventing a new twist on weeknight dinners, my goal is always the same: to help you feel confident, inspired, and excited to gather around the table with those you love.

With over 15 years of hands-on experience in home kitchens and culinary classrooms, I’ve learned what works (and what doesn’t!) when it comes to recipes. My background includes formal culinary training, countless hours of recipe testing, and a long-standing tradition of family gatherings centered around food. Whether I’m prepping for a neighborhood bake-off or developing a new recipe for a local magazine, I bring the same level of care and attention to detail.
Every recipe you find here has been carefully developed, tested multiple times, and tasted by my most honest critics—my family, friends, and sometimes even the neighbors! I’m obsessed with quality and never share anything I wouldn’t be proud to serve at my own table.
Photography is a huge part of my process. Each dish is styled and photographed by me, right in my home kitchen. I believe that food should look as good as it tastes, so you can always expect vibrant, appetizing visuals to guide you along the way.
When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me exploring local farmers’ markets, attending food festivals, or poring over the latest food science research. I’m constantly learning, adapting, and searching for new flavors and techniques to keep things fresh and exciting.

I’m passionate about making cooking approachable for everyone, no matter their skill level. When I’m not in the kitchen, I’m hiking, painting, or hunting for the best coffee in town.
Evelyn Sharp – Content Editor & Community Manager
With a degree in English and a love for storytelling, Evelyn polishes our posts and keeps the Lady Baste community connected. She has a knack for spotting new food trends and organizing reader events. Evelyn’s favorite recipe? Our triple-chocolate brownies—she says they never last more than a day in her house!
